Port Blair, Nov 19: A Maruti 800 fell into a pit near INS Utarakosh, Lamba Line. The mishap occurred today around 1.30 pm. Luckily, the driver escaped from any injury. According to reports, public came immediately to rescue the driver after the incident and pulled the driver out of the car, and later the car was taken out to the road with help of local people and the Police toeing truck.
According to the eyewitness the car, AN 01 C 2409, was going towards Bathubasti (ATR route) and suddenly the driver lost control and failed to negotiate with the road. However, it is not still clear whether the driver had suffered any attack or he was driving under the influence of liquor.
When Andaman Sheekha reporters reached the spot a group of people, who were salvaging the car, asked Andaman Sheekha reporters to stay away and not to click photographs.
“We will break your Camera, if you click any single picture. We have broken cameras of other reporters too in past,” said an angry person, who was busy in bringing out the car.
However, when Andaman Sheekha reporters asked the reason behind the accident he mentioned, “The car driver suffered blackout and lost control over the vehicle.”
Sadly, a group of people were threatening Andaman Sheekha reporter infront of Police Jawans, who preferred to remain as mute spectators.
