Port Blair, Feb 17: Jal Jeevan Mission, is a Central Government initiative to ensure sustainable 100% Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) to rural house hold in India. It is being implemented in A&N Islands by Andaman Public Works Department. Andaman Nicobar State Water and Sanitation Mission (ANSWSM) is the Nodal agency for implementation of scheme in UT. Mass mobilisation and greater public awareness is essential to ensure sustainability of efforts in this direction.
Accordingly, Andaman and Nicobar State Water and Sanitation Mission (ANSWSM) with support of APWD has invited nominations for various contests under Jal Jeevan Mission for participation by general public, firms, groups, art clubs, Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), youth clubs, companies and Gram Panchayats for greater awareness on the various components of Jal Jeevan Mission.
The following competition/contest shall be conducted:

Poster making Contest
The entries for Online Photography Contest may be submitted online by email to diranswsm.and@nic.in and the entries for Poster making Contest may be submitted to the Director, ANSWSM, Chief Engineer’s office, APWD or Respective Offices of Executive Engineer’s APWD of other than Port Blair tehsil and Executive Engineer, PHED, Prothrapur for Port Blair tehsil. Participants can also submit entries in remote isolated islands in office of Assistant Engineers APWD of respective island with a submission confirmation mail to diranswsm.and@nic.in.
The general terms and rules shall be as follows: –
i. Only one entry allowed per person.
ii. Photographs should be in JPEG format only. (Online Photography Contest)
iii. Any camera, including camera on cell phones can be used.
iv. The minimum size of the poster should be 18 x 24 inch. (Poster making Contest)
v. The winners shall be announced through the local print and other media between 15.03.2022 and 20.03.2022.
vi. Participation Certificates shall be issued to Top 10 participants.
vii. The participants shall mention Name, address, contact /mobile number, along with the photograph/ poster in hard copy.

Participants can also submit entries in remote isolated islands in office of Assistant Engineers APWD of respective island with a submission confirmation mail to diranswsm.and@nic.in.

i. Two entries allowed per individual/group.
ii. The video should be of minimum 3 minutes and maximum 5 minutes, HD quality, digital sound with good resolution.
iii. The winners shall be announced through the local print and other media between 15.03.2022 to 20.03.2022.
iv. Participation Certificates shall be issued to Top 10 participants.
v. The participants shall mention Name, address, and contact number.

The entries in the form of background details of work done along with good quality photograph in the field of Theme/Topic along with recommendation of Village Water and Sanitation Committee (VWSC) of concerned are duly forwarded through Block Development Officer/ Executive Engineer looking after rural water supply may be submitted in CD drive to the Director, ANSWSM, Chief Engineer’s office APWD or Respective Offices of Executive Engineer’s APWD of other than Port Blair tehsil and Executive Engineer PHED Prothrapur at Port Blair tehsil. Participants can also submit entries in remote isolated islands in office of Assistant Engineers APWD of respective island with a submission confirmation mail to diranswsm.and@nic.in.
The general terms and rules shall be as follows :–
i. Only one entries allowed per individual/NGO/Youth club.
ii. The background note shall include details of work done ( in hard /soft copy) with good quality photograph either in Hindi/English in minimum 3 A4 size papers divided in these sections :
a) Introduction , b) intervention, c) Results/conclusion, d)Beneficiary area /household /population , e) Recommendation
iii. The winners shall be announced through the local print and other media between 15.03.2022 to 20.03.2022.
iv. Participation Certificates shall be issued to Top 10 participants.
v. Winner shall be selected as Jal Doot for next one year for organizing public awareness program under respective Tehsil and awarded monthly honorarium ,
