Port Blair, Feb 17: Active Social Worker of Ward no. 7 Advocate. Sheela Chakraborty joined the Indian National Congress in Port Blair on Tuesday.
The joining was held in the presence of ANTCC President Mr. Rangalal Halder and Member of Parliament Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma.
Mr. Halder welcomed her and asserted that the party would be bagging the Ward no. 7 seat in the upcoming Municipal Election and BJP will be wiped out.
Further, Mr. Halder appointed her as General Secretary of the District Congress Committee, South Andaman.
Speaking on the induction of Advocate Sheela Chakraborty, Mr. Halder said, “She is a prominent face of Ward no. 7 and her presence will help the party”.
He added that “In all over India and in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, BJP has failed. People will reject BJP in the Municipal Election. Only Congress can give a stable Government. I feel happy that leaders with commitment and knowledge of politics are joining Congress”.
