Port Blair, Feb 17: The ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman Mr. TSG Bhasker wrote a letter to the Director of Panchayat and Municipal Election and requested him to add the new eligible names of peoples to the Electoral Roll.
In the letter, Mr. Bhasker highlighted that many months have passed after the electoral roll was finalized. He said that several youths have reached the eligible age of 18 years and if they are not allowed to vote in this election then their voting rights will come after 5 years.
He added that many people have shifted to some other wards. These cases also need to be considered and the deletion/addition of names be done on a priority basis before the election polling date.
He said that this process will help in increasing the Vote percentage in A&N Islands.
