
Port Blair, Feb 15: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) inaugurated a new regional party office in Prem Nagar (Ward no. 7) on Tuesday.
The new office was inaugurated by ANTCC President Mr. Rangalal Halder in the presence of Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, Mr. Mohd Zubair, City Congress President, Mr. M.A Sajid, NSUI State President, Mr. Rajendran West Block Congress Committee President and Senior Congress Leaders Mrs. ShantaLaxman Singh, Mr. Gyan Prakash, Mr. Sanjay Chowdhary, Mr. Mangal Singh, Mr. Sudhir Biswas, Mrs. Ratna Kannan and Mr. R.K Raj.
While addressing the party workers and residents after the inauguration Mr. Halder said, “A&N Islands needs a change and Congress is the only alternative. Residents of Prem Nagar want basic facilities like uninterrupted electricity, water and good roads. Congress will work for that and will our seat”.
“Congress in A&N Islands will keep raising the issues of public interest as Congress is the party of common man,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Sharma said that Congress candidate Mrs. Amar Devi will win from Ward no. 7 with a large margin. Congress has given the people of Ward no. 7 a good candidate, one who understands administrative affairs.
He added that people are fed up with BJP’s poor governance and are now looking for a stable government that will address their concerns.
