Port Blair, Feb 15: A meeting of the employees of the Andaman Public Works Department (APWD) was held under the Chairmanship of Mr. Vijay Kumar, Vice President, Andaman Nicobar Rajya Karmachari Mahasangh (ANRKM).
The meeting was held in presence of Mr. S. Biju Pillai, General Secretary, ANRKM, Mr. G. Anoop, Organising Secretary, ANRKM, Mr. Sourith Mondal, Secretary and Mr. Vijay Nair. A detailed discussion on the issues was carried out and concluded to form an association in the name of APWD Karmachari Sangh.
In the presence of all members, Mr. Laxman was elected as President, Mr.Nityanand Bala as Vice- President, Mr. Rajesh as Secretary and Mr. R. Satish Kumar was elected as finance Secretary.
The vacancy of three Vice President Posts is kept for the outstation Islands and 13 Executive Members were also inducted in the list.
Mr. Vijay Kumar, Vice President, ANRKM appealed to unite and increase the strength of the union to achieve the target.
Mr. S. Biju Pillai explained about the organisation, its functions and struggling for the betterment of the working class.
