Port Blair, Feb 10: Mr. Armugam, a 58 years old private shore-labourer fell into the sea from his bicycle while returning home on 9th February 2022 at 1730 hrs after finishing work at Campbell Bay Jetty. He was engaged at Campbell Bay Jetty for cargo transportation works.
It was reported that he lost his balance while riding his cycle and fell into the sea from the Jetty.
Immediately, the crew members of DSS vessel M.V. Chuglam, who were on the duty of offloading cargo at the jetty, swung in action and rescued Mr. Armugam.
Soon he was brought to the jetty safely and the matter was immediately conveyed to the Campbell Bay Port Control over VHF for Ambulance assistance. Later a medical team shifted Mr. Armugam to the hospital and he is reported to be safe.
People of the Campbell Bay area have appreciated the daring act of M.V. Chuglam crew members, who responded swiftly because of which the life of Mr. Armugam could be saved.
