Port Blair, Feb 10: In an initiative to strengthen the hold in the grass-root level across the Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and under the vision of President Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, Mr. Rahul Gandhi and Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi Vadrathe Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee organized a mass membership drive at block levels of Bambooflat, Tushnabad and Wimberlygunj in the presence of Mrs. Shanimol Usman, Returning Officer (Incharge A&N Islands), Mr. T.D Pradeep Kumar, Assistant Returning Officer (Incharge, A&N Islands), Mr. Mohd. Shafique, Mr. Laxmi Narayan and Mr. Deva Kumar, (Block Presidents) along with other prominent leaders of ANTCC.
Addressing the gathering of the newly joined members, Mrs. Shanimol Usman said that the Congress Party aims at ensuring unity, social harmony and equality and urged people to join hands with Congress to end the current era where fascist forces are destroying the constitutional values.
This membership drive was initiated on 8th February 2022 under the facilitation of Mr. Sanjib Kumar Mandal (State Incharge, Organizational Election, A&N Islands).
After the completion of the membership drive and fulfillment of all codal formalities the organizational party elections will be held in the various tiers of Congress Party i.e. Units, Blocks and District Congress Committees, Pradesh Congress Committee and subsequently of All India Congress Committee.
