Port Blair, Feb. 4: The Andaman and Nicobar Administration has setup Industrial Estates at various locations in A&N Islands to encourage growth of MSME’s and other Industrial establishments in the Islands. Under this initiative, the Directorate of Industries has allotted space to various units both in Manufacturing and Service sectors on lease basis.
Under the active leadership of Respected Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration, Shri Jitendra Narain, the Department of Industries is maintaining zero tolerance to violations inside Industrial Estates and is carrying out verification from time to time through inspections for identifying such violations, and strict actions are being taken against violators.
Recently an intensive survey was carried out in all the Industrial Estates located in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The mandate of the survey was to verify the status of allotment of existing units. During the survey it was found that some of the units have violated the terms of agreement of allotment.
Further, as part of regular monitoring by the Chief Secretary and to cross verify case of any violation observed in the Industrial Estates by any individual, it is requested to bring any such violations to the notice of the Industries Department. Public have been requested to inform any such matter to the Secretary (Industries) at the earliest.
