Port Blair, Jan 28: Yesterday on 27 January 2022 evening at around 04:30 PM information was received by the Police Station Pahargaon team that an old lady was found dead in her house in Calicut area.
Soon a team of PS Pahargaon reached the spot and found the body of the lady with grievous injuries on her head. Immediately the Police team started an investigation and later the body was shifted to GB Pant Hospital mortuary.
As per details, the victim lady namely Mrs. Mariamma aged around 55 years was selling vegetables in nearby areas and was staying alone in her house.
Meanwhile, a Murder Case has been registered in Pahargaon Police Station. Today after all formalities the body of the lady was handed over to the family members for her last rites, it is learnt. Further details are awaited.
