Port Blair, Jan 24: The Andaman & Nicobar UT Commission for Protection of Child Rights is functioning in these islands with mandate to safeguard Child Rights and to take up programs for disseminating information on child rights and their protections.
It is came to notice of UTCPCR that the vaccination of COVID – 19 for age group between 15 – 18 years is going on in the South Andaman District, in this regard on behalf of UT Commission for Protection of Child Rights Mrs. Sampa Banerjee Member UTCPCR have visited the vaccination centers such as Boys Senior Secondary School, Port Blair and GDMS, Port Blair on 19.01.2022 and JNRM College on 20.01.2022. During the visit Mrs. Sampa Banerjee, Member UTCPCR interacted with the children of various schools who are reached the vaccination centers for their vaccination and it is noticed that the children of the Islands are involved with the vaccination programme positively.
“Further it is also came to understand that some children are not interested to be part of the vaccination due to some health issues. On behalf of UTCPCR I would like to request the parents to kindly send their children to the vaccination centers at Port Blair and be part of the vaccination. The Commission also appeals to the community at large to come forward and bring to its notice any issue pre & post vaccination.
