Port Blair, Jan 09: Island Protection Forum has invited applications from individuals / Associations for “Andaman & Nicobar Dweep Seva Purushkar” to the most desirable candidates/ associations for the year of 2022.
The “Andaman & Nicobar Dweep Seva Purushkar” was introduced by the Forum onwards on 26th January 2020. The 2020 year’s Award was given to Mr. Kunda Behara, from Orissa state, who saved the life of one Islander Mr. Amrit Kujur during distress from the deep sea of Orissa and with the help of the Odisha resident the life of Mr. Amrit Kujur saved and safely returned to Andaman.
In 2021 the Award was given to Kumari Priya and Ambikah member of NGO (Indian Social Awareness Society, T/Nadu) Chennai for providing help on humanitarian ground to an Islander family in Chennai during the pandemic of COVID-19.
It is pertinent to mention here that that the award is only for the mainlanders those who have contributed help in the field of life saving / help during distress or during the help provided to the Islanders during hard times in mainland.
The motive of the award is to encourage the persons to help the Islanders during their hard times and showing selfless service in the field of humanity.
The Award carries the following: a Cash award Rs. 50000/- (Fifty thousand only), and the Award as a Shield, To and fro travel expenditure (by Flight) for 02 selected persons, and Free Accommodation in these Islands during stay.
The interested persons/ association may submit their resume in minimum 100 words with photography of any incident / help to the Islanders between the 01/01/2021 to 31/12/2021. The details may be submitted directly IPF Office or through e-mail: mtmusthfa2015@gmail.com on or before 15/01/2022.
