Port Blair, Jan 09: The District Administration through its District Health Society (SA) is celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav –Iconic Week of Health by conducting health awareness activitiesfrom 3rd Jan. to 9th Jan. 2022 in coordination with Directorate of Health Services and NGOs in the Community Health Centre, Primary Health Centres, Anganwadi Centres and at community level uniformly on various vertical health programmes:

Further, Flash Mob/Street Playhave been conducted on theme of “Lets fight the war against Tuberculosis (TB) and Covid-19-Lets WIN” in coordination with Dance Nritya Academy (DNA) at Guptapara junction, CIARI Road and Bathubasti junction, Calicut Junction, Prothrapur Junction and Carbyn Cove.
Shri. Suneel Anchipaka, Deputy Commissioner (SA) urged the general public of South Andaman to follow the COVID appropriate behavior meticulously by maintaining “Do Guj Ki Doori Aur Mask Hai Zaruri” and also requested that if anyone having symptoms like “persistent cough, chest pain, fatigue, fever, blood in cough, weight loss and night sweats” they may get themselves tested at nearest health centers and also requested to contact District TB unit, GB Pant hospital or District Health Society, DC Office (SA) for any assistance for TB screening or testing to achieve the goal of TB eradication by 2025.
DC (SA) further reiterated that people should AVOID UNNECESSARY TRAVEL and STAY HOME TO STAY SAFE!
