Port Blair, Dec 29: As part of nationwide ‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyaan’, cadets of Army and Naval NCC Units are participating in a wide spectrum of activities to create awareness and to clean the beaches from plastics and non degradable wastes. As a part of the same, cadets of Army and Naval NCC units conducted a rally from Flag Point to Marina Park at Port Blair. The rally was flagged off by Col A Vivekananda, Commanding Officer 1(AN) INDEP Inf Coy and Lt Cdr Ankit Pant, Commanding Officer 1(AN) Naval Unit NCC. The cadets conducted Nukkad natak and interacted with local population to educate them about the importance of clean and plastic free seas and beaches.
65 NCC Cadets participated in the event with zeal and enthusiasm holding self made banners related to the perils of plastic. PI Staff from both Army and Navy NCC units were present and ensured that all COVID 19 protocols were followed during the conduct of the event.
