Port Blair, Nov 25: Inclement weather conditions today disrupted the flight schedule in Port Blair sector. As per details out of total 11 fights, two flights could not land Port Blair and were diverted, while one flight landed at Port Blair late but was not allowed to fly back to Mainland.
According to reports GoFirst flight which left from Kolkata at around 8.00 AM today could not land at Port Blair and hence the flight returned back. But surprisingly instead of Kolkata the flight landed at Bhuvaneshwar with 188 passengers.
Similarly Vistara flight which left Kolkata, with 160 passengers, this morning could not land at Port Blair after few attempts and therefore the flight returned back to Kolkata.
SpiceJet flight which left Chennai, with 191 passengers, this morning was diverted to Kolkata initially after it failed to land at Port Blair. Later anyhow the flight reached Port Blair by 4.30 PM but the fight was not given permission to fly back to Chennai and hence the flight halted at Port Blair for tonight and tomorrow early morning it will fly back.
Passengers of GoFirst flight which was diverted to Bhuvaneshwar, alleged that there was a great deal of confusion and uncertainty at Bhuvaneshwar Airport as GoFirst staffs were not giving proper information to them. Passengers, including kids and aged people, had a difficult time.
