Port Blair, Nov 11: Traffic Arrangements at Wandoor beach is giving horrible times to visitors. Those who are planning to visit the beach must first prepare themselves mentally to get harassed.
The Wandoor Beach has vast parking area and anyone parking their vehicles away from parking area is driven away by the police jawans on duty. But sadly the police jawans avoid going near vehicles of high profile people and senior officers, even if their vehicle is driven inside the beach area.
Today an Army jeep was parked far away from the earmarked parking areas of Wandoor Beach for nearly two hours but police jawans posted at the beach did not even bother to go near the Army Vehicle. Not only this when a Scorpio of a high profile businessmen entered inside the beach area, to drop the family members right on the beach, the driver was not even questioned by Police Jawans.
The worst part is that, there is no check on the way vehicles are parked in the parking area. Those who park their vehicles first in the morning hours, usually find the exit way is blocked by other vehicles. Atleast two families had to wait for nearly two hours, to bring out their vehicle from the parking area, just because someone else had parked vehicle, right infront of their vehicle and vanished inside the beach area.
Neither the Panchayat nor the Police team had any PA system to call or inform the drivers, who had parked their vehicles in haphazard way.
Not only this, most of the passenger jeeps, which come to the beach, are overloaded with passengers, almost double than the capacity. Surprisingly no one imposes challan on them.
