Port Blair, Nov 03: Today the Gram Sabha meeting was held at Gram Panchayat, Nilambur at around 10 AM and discussed Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP).
It was learnt that during the meeting the general public raised their problems regarding damaged village roads of Jarwa Creek, Rajatgarh, Wrafters Creek, and also about lack of street Lights. They also demanded that the Beach Dera road should also be repaired immediately as they suffer a lot during medical emergency cases while traveling through these roads. Various other problems related to the water issue and Baratang villagers were also discussed during the meeting.
As per information received the meeting was held in the presence of Mr. Alex Jender, Special officer/Gram Panchayat Nilambur. Ex-Pradhan, Ex-Zilla Parishad member, and all Department officers of Baratang and the general public were also present during the meeting.
A stall was also set up by Self Help Groups at the meeting for the sale of sweets, vegetables, clothes, and handcrafts.
