Port Blair, Nov 01; In order to bring out the brightness of Diwali among Specially Abled children, the District Administration in collaboration with Port Blair Guru ki Rasoi celebrated Diwali with the children of Divyang Home and also Old Aged Citizens of Abhyudaya, Ferrargunj.
The program began with lighting of diyas with the children. Television and Health Kits sponsored by the civil society organisation were gifted to the children of Divyang Home.
The team led by Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS also visited Old Aged Home and gifted clothes (dhoti, pants & shirt which were customised as per requirements) to the senior citizens of the Old Aged Home. Sweets were distributed to all the children and senior citizens of the Abhudaya Complex, Ferrargunj.
On the occasion, District Administration extends greetings to all the children of Child Care Institutions and the Senior Citizen and wishes them happiness and good health. The District Administration also appreciates the humble gesture of the civil society organisation for their generosity and extension of all the possible support for the overall development of the children.
