Port Blair, Oct 31: Unannounced and prolonged power cuts by Electricity Department at Port Blair have left the residents miffed. As per information received many areas of the city are facing frequent power cuts for the past two months. These outages are usually for 2-8 hours a day which makes it difficult to carry out daily activities and causes unrest among the public.
“When the country is claiming to have electricity in the remotest of the village, it seems we Islanders are being taken for granted”, said a resident of Port Blair.
During this pandemic period, people are mostly staying indoors but these several hours of long power cuts are making life miserable for the public. Hope the Electricity Department will wake up and provide an uninterrupted power supply to Islanders, which is a basic need.
