Port Blair, Oct 31: Deepawali festival will be celebrated on 04th November, 2021 in A&N Islands. In view of the recent directions issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India on the control of Noise & Air Pollution during the festival season, general public is hereby informed that only the fire crackers falling into green crackers and improvised crackers shall be used strictly between 08.00 PM to 10.00 PM. Similarly, fire crackers are also not to be used at any time in the areas designated as silence zones i.e, an area at least 100 meter away from hospitals, nursing homes, primary and district health-care centres, educational institutions, courts, religious places or any other area declared as a silence zone by the authorities concerned. General public is also advised to earmark common central places in every locality/area where people could gather and burst fire crackers within the prescribed limits of time i.e. from 08.00 PM to 10.00 PM and permitted noise levels.
These directions are meant for the safety and security of the general public while they enjoy the festival in its gaiety.
