Port Blair, Oct 29: Residents of Baratang have something to cheer about as for the first time the Island is going to get a full-fledged petrol pump, which will end their several decade long ordeal and struggle.
As per details the Petrol Pump of ANIIDCO, will not only benefit general public and ATR commuters but also hundreds tourist boat operators. Most importantly the residents and boat operators will get fuel at Port Blair rate.
As per details the construction works are in the last leg and by next month end or in December 2021, the petrol pump might become operational.
Meanwhile, the former Zilla Parishad member of N& M Andaman from Baratang, Mr. R Alager Swami, Mr. Roy George, former pradhan, Mr. Anand Bengra, ex Samity member, Mr. Sathish Kumar, ex-up pradhan and all former PR members of Baratang have expressed gratitude wards the Lt. Governor, the DC N&M Andaman and IOC for fulfilling their long pending demands.
