Port Blair, 24 Oct: A Salt Water Crocodile was caught yesterday from a pond of Wandoor Ward Number 01. As per details the two meter long crocodile was sighted in a private fish farming (pisciculture) pond by the owner, who informed the matter to Forest Department.
Immediately Forest Department’s wildlife team reached the spot and captured the female Salt Water Crocodile with the help of fishing net. The croc was later taken to Biological Park of Chidiyatapu where the Crocodile was kept for a medical checkup and as per source, after some day the crocodile will be safely released in natural habitat soon.
