Port Blair, Oct 18:On 18th October, 2021 a delegation under the leadership of Mr. Rangalal Halder, President, Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee together with Mr. M Vasudevan, Ex-Zilla Parishad Member and Mr. K Kannan, General Secretary, Block Congress Committee, Little Andaman met with Mr. Suneel Anchipakka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District in his office. They raised charter of demands for Little Andaman on immediate issue of Smart Cards and Aadhaar Cards as well as deputing official team to Little Andaman exclusively for registration purposes of land periodically there itself. The other genuine demands are replacement of damaged electric poles and urgent maintenance of all streetlights, frequent schedule of shipping services, increase of helicopter services, timely disbursement of old age pension, widow pension, handicapped allowance and destitute allowance, improvement of 4G internet connectivity, enhancement of quota of sea sand and its immediate allotment by District Administration, Replacement of defective X-Ray Machine, Generator provided at PHC, Hut Bay and posting of an Eye Specialist, Doctor, Technician for Ultrasound Machine.
After deliberation and going through the charter of demands, Mr. Suneel Anchipakka, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District immediately directed concerned authorities to explore possibilities for providing all such facilities immediately as demanded for on top priority basis. The delegation expressed their warm gratitude to him for hearing and solving their long pending demands.
