Port Blair, Oct 04: Tourism Association of Andaman & Nicobar organised a Massive Plantation Drive in the Arrival Terminal, VSI Airport, Port Blair today on 4th October 2021 from 10:00 am to commemorate and mark the 75 Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in association with Airports Authority of India & Dept. of Environment & Forests, A&N Admn.
In this connection, the solemn function was presided over by Mr. Manoj Gangal, Regional Executive Director (Eastern Region), Airports Authority of India, Kolkata and Dr. G. Trinadh Kumar, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests (R&WP), A&M Forests, A&N Admn. They highlighted the importance of planting saplings and also shared valuable information on how small steps like planting trees from human beings could be indirectly beneficial to them and to preserve mother nature, such events need to be encouraged at all times.
A welcome note was given by Mr. Ankit Kumar Tripathi, Vice President, TAAN to all the guests and members of the association present.
The plantation was graced by Mr. Jameel Khaliq, Airport Director, VSI Airport, Port Blair, Mr. Rajinder Singh, Dy. Commandant, CISF / CASO, VSI Airport, Port Blair, Mr. G. Prakash Reddy, GM (Engg.), VSI Airport, Port Blair and Mr. Ayyub Hassan, IFS, DFO (FE & PD), A&N Forests, A&N Admn.
The drive went on to all success and altogether 75 saplings have been observed in the premises by the dignitaries, officials present, visitors and students.
The officials and guests have thanked for such a wonderful and enthusiastic gathering and have appreciated this move by the association. Tourism Association of Andaman & Nicobar is highly grateful to all the guests and dignitaries for making it a grand success.
