Port Blair, Sept 15: Delegation from National Union of Seafarers of India lead by Branch Representative, Mr. Dharvinder Ram expressed gratitude to Secretary Shipping, Mr. Kshirsagar Kishore Lakshaman (IAS) on long pending demands for securing employment and wages of Permanent Company Roster Seafarers of Mainland Island Sector. Post decommissioning of vessel MV Nancowry there were complex issues pertaining to employment of Seafarers in said sector.
On 30.08.2021, minutes were released resolving the said issues subject to approval from competent authorities of administration. Further, NUSI has given representation appreciating the concern of Lieutenant Governor, Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Secretary Shipping, Director & Deputy Director of Shipping Services and Advisor Shipping for considering the above said issues.
