Port Blair, Sept 09: Nearly two weeks back one staff of Civil Supplies and Consumers Affair was sent to Hut Bay for carrying out ADHAAR update and new ADHAAR registration works and since then almost everyday, large number of people are visiting ADHAAR update center for all ADHAAR related works.
Now, it has been told to the public that the said staff might return back to Port Blair soon, which has triggered a sense of panic among the villagers as many villagers have problems with ADHAAR updates but are not getting chance because of the crowd.
Grassroot leaders of Little Andaman told Andaman Sheekha that considering the population of Little Andaman, only two weeks time for ADHAAR update is too short.
Villagers demand that either the Department of CS&CA should sent more staffs for different villages or leave all devices needed for ADHAAR update at Little Andaman so that one local staff, after proper training, can carry out ADHAAR updates as and when required for residents of Little Andaman Island.
In any case only a few days window for such a large population of Little Andaman is not enough and that is why the ADHAAR update center is witnessing such crowd everyday.
