Port Blair, July 29: On 16th July 201, dozens of residents of Car Nicobar Island had reached in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office Car Nicobar with placards in hands, demanding scheduling of ship for Car Nicobar Island.
The tribal people were demanding ship for Car Nicobar Islands because lot of people from Car Nicobar including their family members are reportedly standard at Port Blair and are unable to reach Car Nicobar.
Because of non availability of ship on 16 July 2021, when dozens of Tribal people had staged a protest, the Assistant Commissioner of Car Nicobar had assured them that within one week, a ship will be scheduled for car Nicobar.
Now after nearly two weeks people of Car Nicobar are becoming restless. Talking to Andaman Sheekha Daily over phone, a resident of Car Nicobar said that the District Administration had assured them that within one week a ship will be scheduled for Car Nicobar Island but no ship has been scheduled yet, which has left many people of Car Nicobar deeply disappointed and angry.
The caller said that they are now planning to hold another protest at Car Nicobar because assurances given to them were not fulfilled.
Andaman Sheekha team tried to contact the Assistant Commissioner of Car Nicobar and Deputy Commissioner of Nicobar District but due to network issues it was not possible to take a comment in this regard.
