Port Blair, July 23: The District Child Protection Unit (SA) conducted workshop on Adolescence health at the premises of Seva Niketan on 23/7/20201.
The aim of this program was to give the children an opportunity to understand about Adolescence as it is one of the most fascinating and complex transitions in the life span.
The workshop was rendered by Dr Archan Das (Junior Resident, Department of Ophthalmology). The Program started with a brief introduction of Puberty age and its effects on an individual physically, psychologically and emotionally and how to modify behaviour and channelize the energy to do constructive work, rather than to adopt any kind of addiction that can spoil one’s life. Special emphasization on how to say “NO” to addictive substances of abuse (drug, tobacco, alcohol) and tips to get rid of phone addiction was also conveyed during the camp.
The program was successfully conducted with the adolescent boys of Seva Niketan. All the children actively participated and enjoyed the program. Refreshment and gifts were also given to children.
The District Administration ensures to conduct such programs in future also which will help to enhance the overall development of the Children at Child Care Institute.
