Neil, Oct 31: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Island, Mr Bishnu Pada Ray today complained that PDS rations have not been distributed in Neil Island since September 2012.
PDS items Rice, Sugar, Wheat, Kerosene oil were loaded on PMB/DSS boat namely M.V Mari Kutti on 15th September 2012, but till date no PDS rations have been distributed in the Island, the MP said.
“This has hurt the sentiment of Bengali Population, who could not celebrate Durga Puja and Laxmi Puja due to non-availability of PDS items,” the MP mentioned.
Further, Mr. Ray demanded an inquiry to find out the reason behind this.
