Port Blair, June 17: Dr. PK Mandal, State General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Kisan Morcha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has urged the Prime Minister of India regarding pain and discomfort being suffered by Island Farmers, Labourers, Small-Medium Traders and all classes of people.
In his letter he mentioned that since last almost 2 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the general public has been facing a lot of difficulties.
“Due to the immense efforts of the Chief Secretary of A & N Island, Islanders are safe and as of today only a negligible number of COVID-19 positive cases are under the treatment in Andaman,” Dr. PK Mandal, added.
The State General Secretary further pointed out that due to COVID Lockdown people are facing serious problem of unemployment.
“There are families who are struggling to arrange food. There are many States in the country where more than thousands of COVID cases are presently active but in spite of that, the concerned State Government took courageous steps and started the COVID unlock process by following the COVID rules norms,” he added.
