Port Blair, Jun 29: Mr. Manojit Halder, President of Betapur Block Congress Committee North and Middle Andaman has written a letter regarding irreparable loss of the farmers as well as about the sufferings that have to face by the general people due to absence of Special Officer as well as the Panchayat Secretary of Hari Nagar & Swadesh Nagar Gram Panchayat since a long period.
In a letter addressed to the Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of North & Middle Andaman, Mayabunder, the President of BBCC pointed out that since a long period the Special Officer as well as the Panchayat Secretary of Hari Nagar & Swadesh Nagar Gram Panchayat are absent due to which people are suffering losses and many are suffering heavily.
He further added that there are three tractors in the Hari Nagar Gram Panchayat which are used by the farmers for plowing their fields but due to want of fuel all the tractors are lying idle and the advance money taken by the other staffs of the Panchayat are being returned to the farmers, only due to the absence of Special Officer as well as the Panchayat Secretary of Hari Nagar & Swadesh Nagar Gram Panchayat since a long period.
“On the other hand due to this problem other essential works of general public related to the Gram Panchayat are also lying pending since a long time”, Mr. Halder added.
