Port Blair, June 08: Considering the upcoming online National Age-wise Chess Championship 2021, scheduled to be held from 10th June 2021, organised by All India Chess Federation (AICF), the Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA) has organised first ever Online Andaman U-18 Open Chess Tournament 2021 on the 7th June 2021 from 10 am to 6.00 pm in five rounds. The tournament was played under Online Chess with supervision (Part III a) of Fide Online Chess Regulation and the Swiss system. The main objective of the tournament was to make the players from Andaman Nicobar to gain exposure to online chess tournaments. The Tournament was played online under video supervision by using Zoom as Video Conferencing System (VCS) in Tonelo platform, located on the online chess server at https://www.tornelo.com. where Zoom link already added. Altogether Fifty players were registered under different age group and 33 players participated in the event in which the following players secured first top three positions and won prize money as under:

On being successful conduct of this online event, The Team ANCA has expressed sincere gratitude to all the parents and players for their support & patience.
Around Fifty players in different age group, from these islands , will be participating in the upcoming online National age-wise chess championship 2021. The top three players from the National will qualify as official entries for the FIDE Online Cadet & Youth 10-18 Rapid World Cup 2021 starts from 01st August 2021 and their entry fee will be taken care by AICF. Players finishing 4th to 10th will be allowed to participate in World event as Special Entries by paying their own entry fee through AICF.
Further the registered players who could not sign up or create Login-in Id in Tornelo platform are informed to kindly contact B Neelaiah, Gen.Secretary ANCA @ 9434293379 for Technical and other necessary support to create the user ID and other mandatory procedure to join the online tournament successfully.
