Port Blair, May 26: Yesterday, at wee hours at around 12.30 AM, a tree got uprooted, near the road, behind the Dilanipur Community Hall, snapping power lines due to bad weather. Because of this incident the electric pole also got bent.
According to source the local people of that area immediately complained about the incident to concerned authorities.
On information, Mr. Rakesh the Junior Engineer of the Electrical Department, the line man Mr. Krishna and the rest of the staff along with the staff of of PBMC, cut the tree and cleared the electric cables.
After clearing the way some of the area in Prem Nagar had no electricity which was restored by night. As per reports Mr. R K Raj, a social worker also reached the spot and coordinated with officials and helped in solving the issue.
