Port Blair, May 16: ABVP Andaman & Nicobar Islands unit raised the issue of proper Clinical Management Protocols on COVID-19 in these Islands. ABVP in its letter addressing Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration requested to ensure follow up of some essential protocols directed by the WHO, MHFW & ICMR.
The letter referring to ICMR advisory for COVID-19 testing during the second wave requested to ensure full utilization of the available RT-PCR testing capacity both in public and private laboratories.
ABVP demanded to allow RAT at all available Government and private healthcare facilities and Setting up dedicated RAT booths in cities, towns and villages to offer testing to people.
The demands also included setting up of testing booths at multiple locations viz. residence welfare associations, offices, schools and colleges, community centers, convenient locations and other available vacant spaces.
ABVP also demanded RT-PCR testing facilities for outbound Air passengers to Kolkata, Chennai and other cities.
The Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad requested CS to give appropriate directions to follow the recent advisory issued by the ICMR for testing COVID-19 cases in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, a release issued by Mr. Siddhanth Rai Sharma, State Media Convener, ABVP said here today.
