Port Blair, May 11: Under the guidance of Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the Member of Parliament, the “Touch-A-Life Foundation” has taken up the noble task of conducting last rites of people who are succumbing to COVID-19 infection, that too free of cost and irrespective of religion.
As part of this mission, on Monday the TLF team has given a dignified farewell to Mr. Rajendran, who succumbed to COVID-19 at morning. The departed person hailed from Hutbay and he only had a wife & small child in Port Blair who was incapable to perform the COVID protocols.
The information about the corpse was passed by Smt. Mariyam Bibi, Ex Adhyaksh Zilla Parishad to Mr. M. A Sajid, Coordinator of TLF, after which TLF volunteers brought the dead body from G.B Pant Hospital to Junglighat crematorium where the final rites were performed. TLF team followed all COVID protocols and religious rituals while cremating the dead body.
The TLF volunteers included Mr. M.A Sajid, Mr. Zubair Ali and Mr. Saurav Nair.
