Port Blair, May 10: Mrs. M Pappi Naidu, Pradhan of Hut Bay Gram Panchayat, Little Andaman has requested the DC South Andaman to provide boat services from Port Blair to Hut Bay, for passengers, who are stuck at Port Blair city.
In a letter addressed to the Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman, Mrs. M Pappi Naidu said that there are nearby 200-300 people who are stranded at Port Blair and most of the stranded Little Andaman people visited Port Blair for various purposes, especially for medical treatment.
The Pradhan of Hut Bay Gram Panchayat also pointed out that patients, including pregnant ladies who had proceeded to Port Blair for their treatment are also stuck at Port Blair and now they are unable to return back.
“They do not have enough money for their daily expenditure and are facing financial difficulties, as they do not have their own place to stay”, Mrs. Naidu added.
