Port Blair, May 06: Mr. Vichitra Veer, IPS, SP, NMA District today said that the Police personnel of North and Middle Andaman district, with close coordination with the District Administration, have been putting best efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 infection in the District.
Talking to media over phone today, the SP said that the Police Officers and all the staffs are engaged round the clock duty to spread awareness among the public through mike announcements about the guidelines on the Covid-19 issued by the Administration as well as Government of India, to restrict the spread of Covid-19 infection. “People of NMA are largely well aware and extending their full cooperation with Police and Administration in the battle against Covid Pandemic,” he said.
He also lauded the work done by the Deputy Commissioner of N&M Andaman, Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan for taking various precautionary measures well in advance to contain the spread of virus in N & M Andaman District.
“Initially public might face some difficulties due to these restrictions imposed from 2nd May 2021, but gradually public will realize and understand its positive impact,” he said.
The SP further added that the wise decisions of the NMA Administration, tireless effort of Police personnel and the cooperative attitude of the public of NMA will definitely help us to get victory over the 2nd wave of Covid infection.
When asked about a message for public he said “The public should stay at home and stay safe, don’t move outside unnecessarily.”
