Port Blair, Apr 25: Mr. M P Abdul Rasheed (popularly known as Ration Rasheed) social worker in collaboration with District Administration and Andaman Mopla Service Organization conducted a special Vaccination Drive at Lillypur Mosque, Haddo Port Blair.
The vaccination drive was organised from 4 to 8 pm and people from all walks of life registered themselves for the camp and got vaccinated. Fruits and refreshments were also provided by Ration Rasheed.
Deputy Commissioner (SA) Mr. Suneel Anchipeka and SDM Mr. Hari Kallikkat visited the camp and inspected the facilities provided for the benefeciaries. A total of 90 eligible citizens were vaccinated during the drive including a 88 year old lady Smt Bijjuty of Haddo. People of the nearby area had all praise for Mr. Rasheed and Mr. Abdul Siddique
Mr. Suneel Anchipeka also expressed gratitude towards Mr.Rasheed and the Mosque Committee for their initiative. Mr. Abdul Siddique, newly elected Secretary, CCS was also present at the camp and had also put in efforts for the success of the camp.
DC and SDM urged the general public to strictly follow COVID protocols and support the administration in getting vaccinated and in its fight against Corona. Later the whole Mosque premises alongwith the nearby areas was Sanitized by Mr. Rasheed.
