Port Blair, April 23: The President of Daily Newspaper Association of A & N Islands, Mr K Ganeshan has expressed gratitude to the Chief Secretary of Andaman Nicobar Administration, Mr Jitendra Narain for coming forward and addressing the general public of Andaman Nicobar Islands through local media during a press conference organised on Thursday.
In a statement to the President of DNA, ANI has said that the move of the Chief Secretary shows his leadership skills and also exhibits his seriousness and committed towards fighting the war against Covid-19.
“This also shows that he is willing to listen to public problems and committed to resolving them,” he said.
Such Press Conference, attended by senior officers of A & N Administration, attended by the Chief Secretary will instil a sense of confidence among the general public that the administration is listening to the general public and is focused towards fighting the pandemic.
Since a long time, private dailies of Andaman & Nicobar Islands were neglected thus creating a gap between Administration and the public but this time under the leadership of the new Chief Secretary Mr Jitendra Narain things seem to be moving towards the better side. In a healthy democracy reaching out to the public and remaining open to media is the key to success.
