Port Blair, Apr 11: Sailing of M.V Kalighat was announced for 05th April 2021 from Port Blair to Nancowry via Car Nicobar, Chowra, Katchal and Teressa, which was cancelled.
Now the President, Nicobar Youth Association Mr. Rayhaan Pasha requested Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Shipping) On behalf of Tribal Community, Nancowry ,Chowra, Katchal and Teressa pointed out that the Tribal people of Chowra,Katchal and Teressa Island got stuck at Port Blair, Car Nicobar and Kamorta, Nancowry due to non availability of ship.
“The Tribal people travelling to Port Blair and other Islands usually come for medical treatment, students seeking for higher studies, those who search for job, meeting their relatives as well as purchasing of essential items usually having very limited money. Now they are facing many problems staying for a long time in Port Blair and other Island,” he said.
Therefore, He requested to make necessary schedule of ship from Port Blair to Nancowry via Car Nicobar, Chowra, Kathcal and Teressa Islands as soon as possible.
