Port Blair, Apr 11: It is learnt that Health Department conducted Random Rapid Antigen Test on passengers of two private ferries for Swaraj Dweep and Shaheed Dweep out of which one tourist was found positive yesterday and eight were found positive today, which once again indicates that there is something wrong in the negative RTPCR test reports being issued by Mainland Labs.
Thankfully these tourists were tested at Port Blair and isolated or else the infection might have spread in Swaraj Dweep and Shaheed Dweep.
Now people are demanding 100 percent RAT at Port Blair airport for all incoming passengers and also 72 hours duration window for RT PCR negative report for people coming from Mainland India. This is perhaps the only way to ensure tourists keep coming to Andaman and also this might be the right way to keep the Islands safe from further spread of COVID-19 infection.
Meanwhile, today one COVID-19 passenger was issued ticket at Habour and was also allowed to board the vessel MV Coral Queen. Luckily when the doctor of the ship pointed this out, the passenger was taken to hospital and the ship was sanitized. According to passengers there was a huge chaos onboard the ship when it was found that one COVID-19 positive patient has been allowed to board by mistake.
Anyhow the ship which was supposed to sail in the morning hours finally sailed at 11.30 PM.
