Port Blair, Mar 31: The Sri Lankan Tamil Settlers have finally called of their 134 day long protest, demanding resettlement from Tribal Island of Katchal of Nicobar District to South Andaman area following some positive developments in their case, from the side of Andaman and Nicobar Administration.
Mr. Lawrence, Joint Secretary of Katchal Settlers Welfare Association told Andaman Sheekha that the protest was called off today at 7.00 PM.
He said that a meeting was conducted at Port Blair yesterday under the chairmanship of Secretary Revenue regarding the problems being faced by Katchal Settlers and during the meeting along with him Mr. Sakthivel, the General Secretary of KSWA, Mr. Vijaya Kumar, Advisor of KSWA and some other senior officers were also present.
