Port Blair, Mar 25: A bushfire was reported from a farm land of Beodnabad this morning. However, later it was found that three women were stranded inside a house, situated at the middle of the farm land, when the fire spread uncontrollably and fire was seen inching towards the house.
According to Mrs. Mahalaxmi, who owns the house, her three family members were stranded inside the house, surrounded by fire. Among the stranded people, one was her mother Mrs. Savitri and rest two were her daughters.
It was learnt that on information Sub Inspector Mr. Dinesh Meena and Head Constable Mr. Rohit Kumar from PS Pahargaon reached at the spot and rescued all three people from that house safely as per villagers, Mrs. Savitri and two girls, who were stranded inside the house, were in panic and hence they were calmed down by police team and given water.
Soon Fire Station staffs also reached at the spot and the firemen with the help of police and other staffs acted swiftly to control the fire before it could gut the house.
