Port Blair, Mar 22: The District Child Protection Unit (South Andaman) organized a workshop on Yoga with the children of Child Care Institutions at Megapode Nest Resort.
Yoga is a meditative means of discovering dysfunctional perception and cognition, as well as overcoming mind to release any suffering, find inner peace and salvation and it also helps in controlling an individual’s body and soul. Rangoli Competition was also conducted to mark the celebration of Holi at Megapode Nest Resort.
The Chief Guest Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman) and Chairman, District Child Protection Unit encouraged the children of Child Care Institutions to be integrated and learn from each other by developing a confidence to compete at par at national level. The Deputy Commissioner South Andaman in his address assured that Children of Child Care Institutions will be provided every possible opportunity and various platforms for the children to show case their talent.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman) distributed prizes to the winners of the Rangoli Competition. Holi gift hampers were also distributed to all the Child Care Institutions by the Chief Guest.
Altogether 54 children participated in the program. Lunch and refreshments were also arranged at Megapode Resort for the children.
The District Administration ensures to conduct such activities in future.
