Port Blair, Mar 14: In a major development, a team of Andaman and Nicobar Police was able to arrest an accused from Baduria city of 24 Parganas, West Bengal recently.
The accused namely, Arikul Islam, Son of Mr. Mansur, a resident of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, is wanted in two different cheating cases, lodged in October and November 2020 in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. As per detail the accused had fled from Andaman and went to West Bengal, following which the police team was recently sent by Andaman and Nicobar Police to trace out the accused and arrest him.
The team consisting of Constable, Mr. Pranob Sarkar and Constable Mr. Narsudeen Police Constable and was headed by Sub Inspector Deepak Xaxa. The team went upto sensitive area of India- Bangladesh Border, Baduria, 24 Parganas to trace out the accused and finally the team was successful in arresting him under Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act, 1978.
The team conducted their operation under the overall leadership of SHO, PS Aberdeen, Inspector Rahul and total supervision of SDPO, South Andaman, Mr. Nara Chaitanya, IPS.
As per details, Police Station Baduria Officer in-charge, Mr. Anil Shaw and SI Pinaki Sarkar helped Andaman police in this case.
