Port Blair, Mar 14: The Secretary (RD/Panchayat), Shri Suneel Anchipaka in the presence of Director (RD/Panchayat), Shri Vinay Kumar Jindal inaugurated 14 Community Sanitary Complexes (CSCs) in the South Andaman District constructed under Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen).
Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary(RD) directed the concerned to make arrangements for quality sign boards for the toilets constructed under SBM-G and to make the same as pay and use, so as to operate the CSC on a self-sustained way by generating revenue for the Gram Panchayat. Of the total 14 CSC’s, 01 is under World Bank Incentive Fund at Mithakhari near Panchayat Market, and 1 General Sector at Wimberlygunj Market area. Further foundation stone for development of parking area was also laid at Wimberlygunj.
The 14 CSCs are located at Chouldhari-1, Brindaban-4, Mithakhari-5, Collinpur-1, Ferrargunj-1, Wimberlygunj-1 and Kanyapuram-1.
The CSC constructed at Temple myo village at Collinpur GP is for the benefit of 14-15 families and the fishermen using the fish landing jetty. The one Kanyapuram will be useful for more than 150 beneficiaries. Wimberlygunj CSC will serve the floating population as it is near market area which is constructed from GIA General fund of GP. Aniket CSC will be used by devotees visiting Sona pahar mazar. Craikabad, Chouldari will benefit tourists, park visitors. CSC at Muslimbasti near Panchayat Market, playground, near graveyard will benefit around 250-300 beneficiaries. CSC at Mithakhari will benefit around 200-250 beneficiaries mostly Shopkeepers, youth, children and nearby residents.
4 CSC at Kalapathar near to GEL Church, Anganwadi will benefit 30-40 families. 2 CSC at Brindaban near Murugan Temple and Community Hall will be benefiting 15-20 families. CSC at Alipur, Mathura near playground will benefit 35-45 families, whereas 2 CSC at Kadakachang will benefit 45-50 families.
The Secretary (RD) exhorted all the rural villagers for making effective use of the assets provided to them and carry out its proper upkeep and maintenance.
