Port Blair, Mar 14: Today the Navodhaya Foundation’s efforts towards keeping our adopted Village clean, Navodhaya Foundation in Collaboration with Directorate of RD, PRI and ULBs conducted its second phase of Cleanliness drive at Veer Savarkar Park under Chouldari Gram Panchayat in the presence of Mr. Suneel Anchipaka (IAS), DC South Andaman, Secretary RD,PRI & ULBs and Mr. Vinay Kumar Jindal (DANICS), Director RD,PRI & ULBs and other officials of Chouldari Gram Panchayat.
Approximately 50 garbage bags of waste was collected and handed over to the Panchayat Secretary to be sent to the clusters for disposal.
The entire event saw a good participation of Local villagers from every age groups who were very happy to learn that Navodhaya Foundation has adopted the village to keep it clean.
For mass awareness of Villagers as well as general public from rest of the city who come to buy vegetables in Sunday Haat Market, This event was conducted at the time of early morning. The entire team of Navodhaya Foundation requests the general public to join us in keeping our islands clean and free from plastics.
