Port Blair, Mar 05: The Election Commission today held a public draw of lots at 11:45 AM in Zilla Parishad Hall, Mayabunder under the supervision of Election Commissioner (UTS) and DC, N&M Andaman, to allocate the seats reserved for women in Panchayats and N & M Zilla Parishad
As per the results of public draw of lots, lottery was conducted for 37 seats of Panchayat Pradhans, in which 13 seats have been reserved for women, which are Pokadera, Keralapuram, Diglipur, Dhasrathpur, Nabagram, Kadamtala, Sabari, Urmilapur, Sundergarh, Rangat, Kishorinagar, Radhanagar and Nilambur.
Similarly, among 17 seats of N& M Zilla Parishad, 06 seats have been reserved for women which are Pahalgaon, Keralapuram, Kalighat, Mayabunder, Urmilapur, Kishorinagar. Further details are awaited.
