Port Blair, Jan 24: National Union of Seafarers of India conducted Hand Sanitizer distribution drive which started from Junglighat Jetty Port Blair on 20th January 2021. The Deputy Director of shipping services Mr. R Verraiah and Foreign Going Master Mr. Arun Baba distributed sanitizers to 150 workers in presence of NUSI Branch Representative Mr. Dharvinder Ram and NUSI Executive Member Mr. EF Sukesh Kumar.
Seafarers also appreciated the strong efforts of NUSI General Secretary cum Treasurer Mr. Abdulgani Serang for strongly taking up matter of Provident fund, Pension and Gratuity payment of Seafarers.
The government has in principle agreed to the said demand of National Union of Seafarers of India and guidelines for implementation of demands have been initiated.
