Port Blair, Oct 16: A delegation of A&N Health Employees (Ward Attendant, Ayah and Safai Karmachari) Association, Port Blair, led by Mr. K. Marimuthu, President along with Mr.M.Jyothi, General Secretary and others met the Director of Health services, Dr.S.K.Paul, A&N Administration and discussed their issues.
The Association informed the DHS that HPCA/PCA has been withheld since March, 2008 by the Directorate of Health Services, A&N Administration and requested the DHS to make payment of the HPCA/PCA soon. To which, the DHS informed that this matter is already taken up with the Administration on 1/10/2012 and the decision in this regard is still awaited.
Further the association also informed him that there is a shortage of Safai Karmacharis at GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair. This problem emerged because appointments were not made against the retired staff and deceased Safai Karmacharis. Hence, the Association requested the DHS to look into the issue and provide adequate Safai Karmacharis at GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair. To which,
the DHS directed the administration to identify the vacant posts and do the needful to fill-up all vacant posts by adopting proper procedures for appointments at an early date.
